Dave Walton Specialist Car Services

History

The original business was started by my father in 1977 and I joined him at sixteen when I left school.  There was only ever the two of us and at that time we concentrated on the usual 1970 cars that were around at the time and then moved onto more specialist vehicles.
Together we restored quite a few Lancia Fulvia’s including a rare Zagato bodied 1600.  This then progressed on to repairing BMW, Porsche, and Mercedes-Benz.
A few years ago a friend of mine bought a Ferrari which on paper had a massive history but after a while things turned out to be not all that they seemed.  This is how we became involved in Ferrari’s and they have since become a real passion of mine.  We started off with a full engine re-build and have completed lots of work on this Ferrari and various models since.

In April 2007 I took the opportunity to move the business from the original premises in Howden le Wear to new premises 1.5 miles away in Crook County Durham. The pictures you see on this page are taken from my new premises. The original premises had served the business well however they could no longer house the service I wanted to offer my customers.  My father has retired now and I now run the business myself maintaining the personal service that he started all those years ago.
